I tried for two years to talk the pastor out of an octagonal plan for this building, but he was insistent on this shape. It was a very challenging build because the fabrication programs are not designed for anything other than a rectangular building. So many pieces had to be custom fit on site. After all was complete, a traveling pastor visited the site and was amazed at the shape of the church. He later produced a photo of a circular tent on that property from nearly 70 years prior where a revival was being held. The new building mimicked the shape of the tent in the traveling pastor’s eyes, but the pastor of our octagonal building had no prior knowledge of the history of the site. Amazing!
