Insurance Office Cabin

This 16’x32’ cabin/office was built off site using SIP panels (structural insulated panels.) The panels are made of dense styrofoam cores sandwiched between two layers of OSB (oriented strand board). They are very energy efficient and rigid, which works well for a structure that needs to be transported. SIP’s are also considered a “green” material in that they use small “strands” of wood instead of whole pieces. Panels come up to 8’x24’ in one piece, minimizing joints and maximizing efficiency. Log siding is attached to the panels. Any common siding can also be used. While the interior is rustic, it could as well have been finished traditionally with sheetrock, tape, texture and paint.
